What We Do
PSG supports the formation and activities of grassroots groups dedicated to smarter growth throughout the Richmond region, and promotes better land use and transportation planning. We strive to:
By bringing people together to inspire and support community leadership.
- Resources for Smarter Growth
We connect hundreds of people to resources through our workshops, emails, reports, forums, consultations, and our Blueprint for a Better Region.
- Citizen Voice
We cultivate & equip engaged citizens to participate in planning processes, such as Comprehensive Plan updates, in their communities. We identify & encourage leaders to form local citizen groups that work closely with neighbors, elected officials, & local government.
- Business Voice
We cultivate business leaders who are shifting the region’s economy to a more sustainable model. We listen and respond to developers and other business owners, publicize their outreach efforts, and connect them with resources.
By mobilizing our neighbors to get smart and speak up for more connected communities.
- Voices For Transportation Choices
Voices 4 Transportation Choices is a partnership between PSG, Ridefinders, & TransitTalk.com to encourage citizens to get smart and speak up about the need for a more connected region.
- Bike and Pedestrian Initiative
We have teamed up with Richmond Area Bicycling Association, as well as TransitTalk.com, Virginia Bicycling Federation, and other groups, on a campaign to educate and raise awareness of the need for increased bike and pedestrian infrastructure in Richmond.
By discovering the potential of a stronger economy and healthier communities through smarter growth.
