May 1: Valentine Richmond History Center Community Conversations Series: Up and Down the Boulevard with Tina Eshleman
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Claiborne Robertson Room & Best Café, 6:00pm

The Valentine Richmond History Center collaborates with Richmond Magazine to present the Community Conversations series, conceived to engage the community in a dialogue about the region’s past and how that past can positively shape our collective future. Featured are five monthly discussions about various Richmond localities, from Shockoe Bottom to the Boulevard. A Richmond Magazine moderator will lead each discussion, illuminating historical and current-day perspectives that shape our understanding and experience of each location. As with any topic about Richmond’s history, race, place and identity are formative subtexts.

May 8: Chesterfield County Infill Development Workshop
Multipurpose Room, Community Development Building, 9800 Government Center Parkway, 4:00pm

The Chesterfield County Planning Department is undertaking an effort to define infill development and identify infill areas of Chesterfield County. This effort is part of the Phase 2 Implementation element of Moving Forward, the county's adopted comprehensive plan, and would provide the county with a working definition of infill development (which it currently does not have) and identify those areas of the county that conform to this definition.
